“We are very pleased to have Tim join our board and look forward to his contributions,” said Ayan Mitra CEO and founder of CODE Investing. “Drawing on his years of banking experience with HSBC, RAKBANK and First Direct, as well as his first-hand experience setting up and managing several successful businesses, Tim will offer expert advice and support to our management team as we continue to expand our business at an accelerated pace.”

Basford, former COO for HSBC Taiwan and Korea, headed the HSBC taskforce that implemented the global rollout of internet banking in 20 countries across three different continents.  Prior to this, he led the team that launched the world’s first internet banking system at First Direct UK. He has experience delivering a major IT transformation with the creation and implementation of a new world-leading core and trade banking system.

“Joining CODE Investing is giving me an exciting opportunity to get involved with a ground-breaking Fin-tech company,” explained Tim Basford. “Throughout my career I have been fortunate enough to be at the forefront of many IT-related developments in the Banking Sector and CODE Investing represents another new step forward that is very appealing.

The achievements of the company to date, and in such a short period of time, combined with the enthusiasm and vision of the management team make this an opportunity that’s just too interesting to miss.”

With 30 years of experience in IT and operations in the banking sector Tim is able to offer valuable insights and advice for the management team during this period of significant growth.   “I believe that my extensive knowledge of building and future-proofing large IT organisations will allow me to act as a useful sounding-board,” he added. “As a former Chief Operating Officer, I am able to draw on my experience to provide advice about organizational structure, recruitment, operational support and building the teams needed to support and manage the business.”

As CODE Investing continues to grow, Tim’s role supporting the management team will be pivotal in creating the right balance between investment and delivery, where the team can grow at a rate that facilitates business development without over-burdening the business.
